Nytech PPF
(Polypropylene Fibrillated)
Nytech® PPF is a fibrillated polypropylene fiber that can be used as secondary/temperature-shrinkage
reinforcement at 1.5 lbs/cy and a standard length of ¾”. The need for 1.5 lbs compensates for the lesser
number of fiber elements in the fibrillated product versus the monofilament. This product is available also in 1" and
1.5" lengths.
Nytech® PPF meets the requirements of ASTM C1116, Section 4.1.3 and Note
3 as well as ICC ES AC32, Sections 3.1.1 and 3.1.2.
The fibrillated, netlike configuration compensates for the fact that polypropylene
is hydrophobic when considering bond. The lattice pattern of the fibrillated polypropylene provides a means for the
mortar to secure the product in the concrete.
Nytech® PPF will provide excellent resistance to surface abrasion, which
would include waterborne particulates in a channel or canal. Increased fatigue strength is another documented benefit.
A huge drawback to using any fibrillated polypropylene in concrete slabs is the hariy
surface.
